Today, I'm going to talk about a lake here in Ohio where we've made many memories. Kiser Lake is off of North State Route 235 in Champaign County. If you're familiar with the area, you know that it's pretty much nothing but miles of farmland. While most would consider this dull and boring, I absolutely love it. The smell of country air comforts me and the quietness---when compared to bustling cities---is a welcomed change. When it's a bright, sunny day, the sky sometimes resembles a painting.

Reminds me of the intro to "The Simpsons."
My maternal grandparents used to live on North State Route 235, about a mile north of Kiser Lake, so each summer, we'd take a trip there, and spend a lot of time fishing, swimming, and generally just goofing off. What I love most about Kiser is that when compared to other lakes in Ohio, it is rarely crowded with people, unless, of course, you're visiting the swimming area of the lake when the temperature is in the mid-80s. Don't worry, though, because Kiser also offers swimming, camping, and hiking trails for your enjoyment.

C loves everything about the water, so it's great to have a peaceful lake nearby to retreat to in the summer. We typically head there to swim and build sandcastles, since C enjoys digging.
This took us all day. It kind of has a "tropical tiki" theme to it, no?
He's a front view. It actually had a drawbridge, thanks to my very creative husband.
C doing what he does best: Living.
If you're ever near Kiser Lake, stop on by. Even if you don't feel much like swimming, fishing, or hiking, sitting along the lake shore and watching the hawks circle overhead is often enough to help you relax and contemplate the complexities of life.
